Taken on our last night in Matabungkay. Jaque and I have repeatedly been planning beach trips that never quite pushed through. So in the days between Christmas and New Year, we persisted and insisted that we go anywhere near the beach.

We ended up in Matabungkay. Its not really Boracay, nor is it Palawan or even Puerto Galera...but then Mindoro was flooded and Boracay was fully booked so we said what the hey, might as well.

In the end we got what we wanted, a day or two at the beach. What it lacked in white sand, it more than made up for with the sunset on our last night. Definitely the fiercest I've seen beachfront.

Looking at it now, I wish I couldve captured it better...but then again, its over and done with and I'm thankful I was there to see it.

I would not have ended my year any other way.

(on a related note, I realized belatedly, that I started 2005 with a Boracay trip and ended it, well, by the beach again. Not bad for someone who claims to be beach deprived...though I still insist that I AM.)

my new phone!

Sure, I never would have bought a new one if I werent stupid enough to actually keep my valuables in the small, accessible pocket of my backpack, but then its was apparently a blessing in disguise. This little number has the basic SMS features and adds just the right amount of extra features: MMS, camera and FM radio. AND at less than half the price of most phones I know.

Since I'm bored and Buddy is safely hidden in his safety deposit box (paranoia dictates that he stay there) I will post these photos I took with my cam phone. Mostly me and mostly nonsense...but photos nonetheless.



Coffee remains as one of this girl's best friend. In photo is my standard breakfast coffee enjoyed in the hotel's breakfast room. I can never ever imagine starting a day without coffee...can you?

Cooking for one is never fun. So I go for the easy stuff...frozen beef patty, seasoned with something that smells and tastes very Mediterrenean. Matched with salad with vinaigrette, fried Halloumi (the cheese that doesnt melt!) and a hefty dollop of Tahini. Yum.

And then of course there's the obligatory self-portrait. Yes, I admit, I now take self-portraits more often just because I can. But no, Buddy still takes precedence and I will NEVER trade him for the most expensive cam phone anywhere! :p
